About Us

Strategic Alignment Partners, Inc. was originally incorporated as HURECO, INC. on August 13, 1991. As the organization evolved it made the decision based on client feedback to more accurately reflect the contributions it was making to help companies better align their people with the results they were trying to achieve. Strategic Alignment Partners is dedicated to helping organizations achieve their objectives and strategic initiatives through people. We have performed assignments with organizations in the areas of Organization Development and Culture, Board Development, Talent Selection, Talent Development and Compensation. Clients include associations, not-for-profits, public and private for profit organizations as well as public agencies. Strategic Alignment Partners, Inc. is a woman-owned business.

Our Talent

Gayle E. Abbott, Ms. Abbott is President & CEO, Strategic Alignment Partners, Inc.  She has extensive experience helping organizations effectively manage their human capital to enhance their success. She provides expertise in organizational and human resources effectiveness through organization culture initiatives, talent selection, talent development and aligned compensation programs. She is known for her practical, realistic approaches to helping organizations increase their productivity and ROI through their human capital as well as helping solve people related challenges.  Ms. Abbott has also worked with Boards of Directors on working and communicating effectively as a team; defining Board Chair and Director roles, responsibilities, key outcomes and competencies; and facilitating board member selection processes designed to support the nominating committee in their efforts to objectively select new board members who will most effectively meet organization needs and contribute to the achievement of board and organization objectives.

She has spoken on such topics as “Selecting and Retaining Top Performing Talent in a Competitive Market”, “Strategic Alignment for Increased Productivity and ROI”, “Using Competencies to Develop and Get Better Results through People”, “Selecting the Best for Success”, “Designing Effective Compensation Plans”, “Achieving Your Summit”, “Writing and Delivering Performance Evaluations that Get Results”, and “The Changing Role of Human Resources”.

Prior to starting her own company in 1985 she served as the senior human resources executive for two technology firms. She has also served as internal compensation consultant for a quasi-governmental organization, human resources generalist for a government agency and as leader of the compensation and OD practice for Mercer.

Ms. Abbott has served as an adjunct faculty member at American University where she taught “Strategic Human Resource Management” and Marymount University where she taught Compensation. She has been certified as a SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), CPBA (Certified Behavioral Analyst), CPVA (Certified Values Analyst), CAIA (Certified Attributes Index Analyst), TriMetrix Certified and was a CCP (Certified Compensation Professional). She has her BA from American University and her MBA from Loyola College. She has received a number of awards for outstanding leadership and has been listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the South and Southwest, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry and Who’s Who in American Women.

Gail Lang. Ms. Lang is Senior Consultant. She works with companies on organizational culture and talent development; helps companies recruit and select high performing talent and works with them to establish selection processes that achieve the results they desire. Prior to affiliating with Strategic Alignment Partners (formerly HURECO) she was Vice President of Business Resources for the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC).  Ms. Lang worked closely with the CEO and CFO as well as line managers in developing several NRTC mission critical areas such as employee recruitment and retention, employee communications, and employee training and development. The initiatives she led served to significantly impact employee productivity, morale, and core competency building. Prior to her work at NRTC, Ms. Lang was a Human Resource Division Manager with Allstate Insurance Company. She holds a BS degree in Public Communications from Syracuse University. She is a Certified Professional Behaviors Analyst (CPBA), and a Certified Professional Values Analyst (CPVA).

Gary Abbott.  Mr. Abbott is a Senior Consultant with expertise in human capital management, organization structuring, talent search and selection, business and financial systems, coaching and compensation analysis & design. He brings a practical business perspective to human capital issues and effectively balances the strategic and tactical perspectives in his view of work place challenges and programs.  He has worked on assignments with public authorities, not-for-profits, associations and private industry. He has a degree in Accounting from Indiana University, is a CPA (inactive) and has his CEBS designation. Prior to joining Strategic Alignment Partners he was Director of Operations for a nationwide Distribution company and owned Accountants Select which he merged with Strategic Alignment Partners.  He also has experience with such technology firms as Boeing Computer Services, STSC, Inc. and ADP.

Pamela Saunders.  Ms. Saunders is a Senior Consultant and experienced human capital professional with expertise in directing and mentoring organizations of managers and associates to achieve business objectives. She is skilled at analyzing business needs from a human capital perspective and creating effective solutions that result in maximized efficiency and increased revenue.  Before joining Strategic Alignment Partners, Inc., she was the Director of Human Capital for the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) in Bethesda, MD.  Previously she had gained extensive management/HR experience from companies like ADECCO, General Electric, First American Corporation and Chevy Chase Savings Bank.  Ms. Saunders has experience using effective change management across all levels of the Human Capital field, creating new and enhanced systems and procedures designed to meet and exceed both corporate and employee needs.  She has successfully recruited sought-after C-Level executives, authored new and improved performance management programs, administered complex compensation and payroll systems for more than 2000 personnel, and has created powerful communication enhancement tools, allowing for the smooth flow of vital information between staff, management and company leaders.  As a result of managing HR functions for employees in 30 states, she has developed a strong working knowledge of federal and state laws.  She holds a B.B.A. in Business Management from Howard University. She is a Certified Professional Behaviors Analyst (CPBA), and a Certified Professional Values Analyst (CPVA).

Tad Wicker. Mr. Wicker is a Sr. Consultant with expertise in curriculum design, development and management; leadership & management development including the leader as coach; leadership, management and sales content knowledge; change management; and group facilitation. Most recently Mr. Wicker worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, L.L.P. where he held roles ranging from Lead Trainer and Designer to Program Director, Global Consulting and Consulting Global Capability Manager. He worked on and led a number of major development initiatives for PWC. He has spoken on “Developing a Coaching Culture to Develop and Retain Staff”, “Developing Coaching Skills On-line and Off”, and “Developing a Competency Based Corporate University”. Just prior to joining PWC Tad worked as a Management Consultant for HURECO, INC. He has his BS in Psychology from Virginia Tech and his Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.

Elizabeth Weihmiller.  Ms. Weihmiller is an Associate Consultant.  She has worked on projects in talent selection and search, affirmative action, performance management and compensation.  She will receive her bachelor's degree in business with concentrations in management, economics and human resources in 2010.   

Devon Weide is a Consultant with experience in compensation analysis with organizations in the utility, biotech, and non-profit industries. In addition he has over 6 years of experience in database management and design. He is also a Certified Professional Behaviors Analyst (CPBA) and a Certified Professional Values Analyst (CPVA).
